Remove forwarding rule from particular OU with powershell

$

I am trying to accomplish  anyone has ForwardingAddress in TermedEmployees OU, remove the ForwardingAddress with powershell.

When I run the following command, I get "couldn't find organizational unit. "

Get-Mailbox -organizationalUnit "test.edu\People\TermedEmployees" -ResultSize unlimited | Where

{$_.ForwardingAddress -ne $null} | Set-Mailbox -ForwardingAddress $null -DeliverToMailboxAndForward $false

I created csv file which contains all users in TermedEmployees OU and saved as termempdata.csv and tried to remove Forwarding from there, but this doesn't eliminate Forwarding rule, either.

$users = import-csv c:\outlookdata\termempdata.csv
$users | % { get-mailbox $_.UserPrincipalName  | Where {$_.ForwardingAddress -ne $null} | Set-Mailbox $._UserPrincipalName -ForwardingsmtpAddress $null -DeliverToMailboxAndForward $False}

I don't get an error, but it looks like Set-Mailbox is not working at all.

Thanks.

Akiko

Unable to edit Shared Room Mailbox Calendar resource

$

I have about 5 receptionists in our company that has full permission access to Shared Meeting Room resource calendars.

For On-Premise Exchange, they have Editor permissions and able to go in each room calendars and make changes and adjustments in the bookings.

However, I am experiencing issue with the Exchange Online Calendars. Office 365 and Shared room resource has been migrated to Office 365.

User has set to full permissions from the Office 365 Admin portal and ran power shell cmlet and it shows the user's (receptionist users) have Editor permissions.

When the user's add the shared calendar, they are unable to edit any of the bookings. They are not able to edit them and update all the invitees in the bookings.

When you add the shared room calendar, there is only view only access. There is no way to update the changes to the invitees. Seems like you could only update the changes to the Shared room calendar and not the invitees.

When I am in the shared room calendar, the permissions button is greyed out.

This means this is view only access. Is this correct?

This issue occurs for Outlook client and Outlook web app. I even tried to shared the calendar to the user with Editor permissions in the Outlook Web app. Same result.

Is this a known issue? Sharing User calendar are fine.

Hi Brook

Thank you very, very much for your help. Our IT guy had sole admin privileges on his account but didn't let us know. We now have access back and have created the necessary rules. Thank you for all your help. These forums are great. :)

Outlook error “there was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/…”

A number of our users (with differing versions of MS Outlook and in different locations) are occasionally receiving an error message (screenshot attached):

There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/{string}/{string} that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

It apparently only occurs every few weeks and does not appear to have any effect on the function of Outlook.

It would be good to know what is causing it though and how to stop it occurring again.

We're using hosted Exchange Online by Microsoft Office 365 and do not have an on-prem Exchange server.

Hi,

I recent had my laptop returned to original settings as it was not working. Once it was returned from the shop I loaded office 2010 but have not been able to connect outlook to my o365 account. After adding all the details to set it up the password box pops up - and I fill in my credentails press return ......then it pops up again and again. Please can someone help me set this up as it was working perfectly well last week.

Russell

RE: Set up mailbox archiving (enabling archives for hosted mailboxes; hybrid)

When running a hybrid deployment of Office 365, your master Active Directory is the one you keep on-premises. Therefore, even though you are enabling a cloud-based archive mailbox for a cloud-based primary mailbox, you still need to enable it via your on-premises Exchange admin center (EAC) or Exchange Management Shell.

Once you are logged into the correct environment, follow these steps to enable archive mailboxes.

Frequently asked question:

Our organization is using Exchange Online Archiving in a hybrid deployment to create cloud-based archive mailboxes for our cloud-based primary mailboxes. However, when I enable the archives I get an error saying something about a “write scope”. What’s going on?

RE: attendees not showing as participants in meetings when accepting with no response

Hi Ptna_r,

Yes, currently, this is a normal behavior. If attendees accept the meeting invites without a response, the organizer is not able to get the confirmation from them. You can submit feedback regarding the feature via http://office365.uservoice.com. Many features of current programs have been designed and upgraded based on customers’ constructive comments. Thanks for your understanding.

Frank

attendees are accepting and selecting accept with no response.  their availability is correctly showing busy however they are not showing up as an attendee of the meeting to the meeting organizer.  Is this correct behavior?  Our meeting organizers are not able to track meeting attendance and this is happening with all users and has been occurring for a long time.

RE: overall mail storage limits ?

Hi, I have tried converting a user mailbox to a shared mailbox, however when I did this the licences remained on the account but I could not see a way to remove them ?

is there a powershell command that can remove the licences from a mailbox that has been set to a shared mailbox ?

Also is there an overall limit to how big the collective of all mailboxes, shared or otherwise can be, e.g. if your shared mailboxes are not over 50GB but you have many of them is there an overall limit ?

Also I was not aware that a user who has had their licence removed gets their mailbox emptied, what is the recommended method to hold an account for a user that say goes on maternity leave but intends on coming back in 6 months ? do we need to keep the licence open ? even though the user will not be accessing for 6 months ?
