You are correct regarding the MX records keeping them pointing to the On Premise Exchange, for the moment, as what I am ultimately aiming for is:
- Whilst mailboxes are being moved from the on premise exchange to the online exchange I want these accounts that are Active Directory synced with the online exchange to have the outbound and inbound internal and external email to be routed through the on premise exchange
- When all mail boxes are moved to the online exchange i can then point the MX record to the online exchange so te online exchange will then handle all inbound and external email.
I did use the Hybrid Configuration Wizard to configure the Hybrid Deployment which completed successfully.
What I have noticed is that after the wizard the on premise exchange has an "Outbound to Office 365" Send Connector but there is only my original Receive Connectors, none that say "Inbound from Office 365" ?
I have also activated logging and the current default original receive connector is logging incoming emails but the log for the "Outbound to Office 365" Send connector has had nothing written to it telling me that internal mail is not being routed through this Send Connector?
Your help is very much appreciated as I am struggling to see what I have done wrong with the hybrid deployment.
